Well, 10 o'clock came and went, now didn't it. Those of you that know me and my packing habits are not surprised.
I've decided to start a small blog to share some of the insights and discoveries I find along the way to western Canada. Two crazy kids (Darren and Kristen) have decided to tie the knot and are doing it in grand style in Banff, Alberta, Canada. I missed out on the post-grad cross-country road trip and it's likely I won't get to it until I retire, so what the heck, I decided to drive out to Banff. Seemed like a good idea at the time. But, as I told Darren last night, there's always a bit of an anxiety attack before leaving on a big trip, at least there is for me. Do I really want to be away from home that long? I'll miss my family and dog terribly. Can I meet the challenge of driving all that way myself? Will the truck hold up? Despite all of the pre-departure jitters, once you're actually out there exploring and OnManuevers, you think "why don't I do this all the time?"
So, I'm off. I've got a two stops before I'm on the road and officially OnManuevers. Can't wait to get to it, but saying bye to Jack is always tough. I'd love to take him with me, but I'll bet those Canadians are funny about dogs.
