Glacier part deux

After the previous day's activities, we slept in but only until 8:00. After the always delicious breakfast buffet, we sat in on a presentation about the Strait of Magellan, which we would be in later today. After the presentation, we attended a knot tying class taught by the boatswain. Another presentation followed, this one on Chile, it's culture and attractions. After lunch, we had time for a quick nap before we disembarked at the Aguila Glacier.

These cool screens kept us up to date on the vessel's position, speed, direction and planned activities.

Knot tying class with the older crowd.

Heading towards the glacier.

We were the last ones off the boat.

Thurston Howell again.

Mauricio educates us again.

Salt Lake City doing some impromptu yoga while waiting for the Zodiacs.

We were also the last to get back to the boat.

The hake fillet was very good.

Sailing up the Strait of Magellan in the dark.

After dinner, there was a farewell toast from the Captain and the ship's flag or jack was raffled off. Unfortunately, despite a helping hand from Mauricio we didn't take the flag home with us. The navigation chart used for Cape Horn was auctioned off with a lady from Missouri being the high bidder.

The Captain bade us farewell with a toast and we reluctantly headed to bed, sad that tomorrow was our last day in Chile and we would have to head home.

Next up: Penguinos and heading home.
